Based on the philosophy of “Neighbors Helping Neighbors,” SCC’s Village on the Hill serves adults over age 50 through various programs and services—enabling Village members to remain at home with safety, dignity and respect.

This locally developed program serves adults residing in Groveland, Big Oak Flat and Buck Meadows. Over 100 communities across the nation have embraced the Village model to support older adults who choose to remain in their own homes. Our screened and trained volunteers offer safe and confidential assistance with challenging tasks and lend friendly support through personal calls and visits. This program not only improves the lives of Village members, it also enriches the lives of our volunteers who lend their time and talent to Village program.

From a member: “The volunteers have been wonderful and extremely helpful.  One even brought me flowers!”

From a member who also volunteers: “I threw away all of our ladders.  Now I just call Village on the Hill and let them take care of it.”

From a volunteer: “Visiting with this member was such a pleasure.  I really enjoyed getting to know her.”
